Ferrari Purosangue (2022): like that the future SUV with the prancing horse?

Ferrari Purosangue (2022) like that the future SUV with the prancing horse

While we are still awaiting the official revelation of the Ferrari Purosangue, the future SUV of the Italian manufacturer has been imagined by a designer.

If it has already been surprised during road tests, still camouflaged, the future Ferrari SUV , called Purosangue (for “thoroughbred” ) should soon be unveiled. The prancing horse brand has long denied wanting to give in to the SUV fashion, but it will finally join the pack, in a market where we already find the Aston Martin DBX and other Lamborghini Urus , whose success is at the rendezvous.

Ferrari Purosangu, a mix of Roma and SF90 Stradale?

Georgian designer Giorgi Tedoradze has released two illustrations of the model, with a particularly aggressive styling that is notably inspired by the Roma and the SF90 Stradale .

The front borrows the codes of Ferrari , with sharp headlights as well as an LED light signature that can be found in the lower part of the large angular air intakes.

The stern is a bit more sophisticated, with small LED tail lights connected by a red LED light strip, and highlighted by two exhaust cannulas integrated into the middle of the rear bumper.

With the engine of the GTC4Lusso?

If the mystery still remains on this new model, according to the latest rumors, the Ferrari Purosangue should borrow the 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 of the GTC4Lusso , with a power of around 650 hp … Unless a V12 not on the program?

No presentation date has yet been announced, but the Maranello firm is expected to unveil its first SUV by the end of 2021 .

Pagani Huayra R (2021): an extreme supercar reserved for the track!

Pagani Huayra R (2021) an extreme supercar reserved for the track

This crazy version of the Pagani Huayra promises 850 hp for 1,050 kg, and an atmospheric V12!

When Pagani presented the Zonda R in 2009, it was a shock: bare carbon body, impressive aero, and above all a 750 hp racing V12! Pagani has decided to do it again in 2021, with the Huayra R , based on the brand’s second model .

The Pagani Huayra R promises to be a real monster. To satisfy those who had been disappointed with the switch to turbo with the replacement for the Zonda, the Huayra R is equipped with an all new naturally aspirated V12 , developed by HWA, the racing arm of AMG . This 6-liter block develops a whopping 850 hp , with a red zone set at 9,000 rpm and a racing exhaust! Your neighbors will hate you … Except that the Huayra R, like the Zonda R before it, is exclusively reserved for the track .

850 hp for 1,050 kg!

But doing without the standards that surround the homologation of a road car has allowed Horacio Pagani’s teams to surpass themselves, both in terms of aero and weight gain . The Huayra is announced at 1,050 kg dry. Very little when you have 850 hp behind your back!

Aero is therefore not to be outdone. Pagani says he has reached his target of 1,000 kg of downforce at 320 km / h easily, enough to reserve even to modify certain elements to improve the look of the machine.

2.6 million euros excluding taxes

A tempting proposition therefore, even if the price set at 2.6 million euros (excluding taxes!) Is something to cool off. It is more likely that the 30 copies planned will be quickly reserved. However, the Pagani Huayra R enters a now very competitive market , and will have to face, among others, the impressive GMA T.50S , the Brabham BT62, or the track version of the Aston Martin Valkyrie . Beautiful people! Very lucky the one who can afford the luxury of comparing them on the track …

Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition (2021): a radical version for the track!

Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition (2021) a radical version for the track

Inspired by the Vantage used as a Safety Car in F1, this Aston Martin is built for the track.

If you’ve been following recent Aston Martin news , this Vantage F1 Edition shouldn’t come as a surprise. Indeed, the British brand made a big splash about its return to F1 . A return that is on two floors: first the team itself, formerly Racing Point and Force India , and now driven by Sebastian Vettel , but also via a new contract to provide a Vantage and a DBX SUV to serve as Safety Car and medical car on half of the races in 2021.

This Aston Martin Vantage Safety Car has also received many improvements for the occasion, to allow it to keep a sufficient pace for the F1 cars that follow it. More power, more downforce, new tires, etc. Aston Martin has decided to capitalize on these changes by taking them almost directly to what is becoming a new version of the Vantage, the F1 Edition. Essentially, this is a Safety Car for the road !

25 hp more, a sharp chassis

In detail, the Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition retains most of the improvements related to the Safety Car. We therefore find the slight increase in power (+25 hp to reach 535 hp), a more aggressive aero kit (appendages at the front, large spoiler behind), revised gearbox management, firmer suspensions , and reinforcements for the chassis . Finally, it gains new 21 “rims with specific tires, against the 20” that usually equip the Vantage.

Of course, you can buy your Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition in the beautiful dark green typical used by the Safety Car and the F1 car, but also in white or black if you prefer. Inside, you can opt for a fluorescent yellow border that recalls the colors of Aston Martin in endurance.

Aston Martin’s 911 GT3?

We almost find here the spirit of a Porsche 911 GT3 : without being completely extremist, it brings together a certain number of improvements which should make it much more comfortable on the track . Surprisingly, it will also be available in a convertible version .

Of course, all these changes come at a price: the Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition is announced for 162,000 € in Germany, without for the moment specifying whether it is planned to send it to France. The first deliveries are expected for May 2021.

Aston Martin V12 Zagato (2013): a rarity for auction

Aston Martin V12 Zagato 2013 a rarity for auction scaled

A very rare 2013 Aston Martin V12 Zagato, in pristine condition, has been auctioned in the United States. It exceeded the € 420,000 mark.

Aston Martin has joined the Italian coachbuilder Zagato to produce this superb achievement honoring the 50 th anniversary of the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato. It was presented at the Concours d’Elegance of the Villa d’Este in Italy in the spring of 2011 , and only 61 examples have been produced since, entirely by hand, each requiring more than 2,000 hours of work. This model, which was put up for auction, is one of four examples that were exported to the United States.

Aston Martin V12 Zagato (2013): only 5,150 km on the odometer

This beautiful Aston Martin V12 Zagato has a red “Fiamma Red” livery protected by a body protection film, and sits on specific 19-inch Zagato rims, fitted with Pirelli P Zero tires of 255/35 at the front and 295/30 at the rear. Adjustable Multimatic DSSV shocks and carbon ceramic brakes complete the package.

This model has of course the elements signed Zagato such as the specific body in carbon fiber and aluminum, its double-embossed roof, its sculpted bonnet, as well as its rear face with a unique light signature. The interior features carbon fiber seats covered in black “Obsidian Black” leather embellished with red stitching and the famous Zagato “Z” .

Listed on the American website Bring a Trailer , this unit was imported to the United States in 2014, and displays only 5,150 km (3,200 miles) on the odometer. The 6.0-liter V12 engine, borrowed from the V12 Vantage, is stock, and delivers 517 horsepower for 570 Nm of torque . To date, the largest auction recorded is $ 510,000, the equivalent of approximately € 428,000 .

McLaren 720S GT3X (2021): a 750 hp tracker!

McLaren 720S GT3X (2021) a 750 hp tracker

McLaren decided to see what their GT3 machine could become without the restrictions placed on it in racing.

The GT3 is probably the most popular category of the moment: sports cars and supercars, transformed into racing cars, compete in it all over the world. There are Porsche 911 , Ferrari 488, Aston Martin Vantage, or even Bentley Continental . So, so that everyone can fight on an equal footing, restrictions are imposed by SRO, the organizer. Limited power, additional weight, everything is good for the action in the race to be as tight as possible.

But McLaren is visibly frustrated with the limits set on its 720S GT3, which is notably restricted to just over 500 hp. This is much less than the road version! So frustrated, that the British brand decided to make an even more extreme version of its racing car: the McLaren 720S GT3X .

200 hp more than in the race!

From the outside, the GT3X looks like two drops of water like the classic 720S GT3. The aero was in fact generally retained , even if a specific cooling had to be developed. And for good reason: the engine gains 200 hp ! This twin-turbo V8 now develops 720 hp, and up to 750 hp at the press of a “Push to pass” button. Enough to transform this racing beast into a missile.

Another major modification: the roll bar has been revised to make room for a passenger . For the pleasure of discovering unique sensations ! Undercarriages and brakes are retained, but more than enough to humiliate almost anything that rolls on your next track visit.

McLaren does not specify how many copies will be produced, or at what price the 720S GT3X will be sold. But knowing that a classic 720S GT3 already costs around € 500,000 , this GT3X will clearly not be a low-cost …

Ferrari Purosangue: what we already know about the Italian SUV

Ferrari Purosangue what we already know about the Italian SUV

It is now a certainty, Ferrari will go through the SUV box. Expected for 2021, the very discreet “Purosangue” model was filmed in its camouflage near the Fiorano circuit.

SUVs have been on the rise for several years now. But some manufacturers, especially luxury brands , have taken much longer than general manufacturers to get up to date. Until a few years ago, no one imagined seeing Aston Martin SUVs (like the recent DBX for example), or Lamborghini SUVs (the Urus in 2018).

A Levante-style Ferrari SUV

The Italian SUV, seen at the start of the year under a thick camouflage made up of several bodywork elements taken from its cousin the Maserati Levante, is still a confidential project. The prancing horse brand, which has been fueling rumors for several years, only confirmed in 2018 the official name of the model: Purosangue . By way of comparison, the Levante released in phase 2 in 2020, offers several engine levels, in V6 or V8, with a power varying between 345 and 590 horsepower and 4-wheel drive.

For now, the model is most likely expected by the end of 2021 , and no further announcements have been made on the subject. Only a few videos circulate on the net with camouflaged versions.

Several engines: V12 and V8

In terms of engines, rumors are linked. Some evoke a rechargeable hydride engine, as it was done on the SF90 Stradale for example, which combines a V8 engine of 780 hp and an electric motor of 220 hp, for an incredible result at 1000 hp all round. Here, it is surely not envisaged to reach such levels of power: the rumors evoke the use of the V8 twin-turbocharged 3.9 l of the GTC4 Lusso to animate it, which develops all the same 650 hp.

One thing is certain, to overcome certain penalties , the Purosangue will probably opt for a hybrid engine. Not sure, however, that he will ignore the penalty in terms of the weight of the vehicle …

Parisienne 2021: the Matra MS 670 and the sportswomen of Group B break the bank!

Parisienne 2021 the Matra MS 670 and the sportswomen of Group B break the bank

Organized on February 5 in Paris by Artcurial Motorcars, the 2021 Parisian auction was a resounding success with more than 18 million euros raised.

The 2021 Parisian auction , organized on February 5 at the Hotel Dassault in Paris by the house Artcurial Motorcars , has kept all its promises.

It must be said that the field proposed that day brought together some legends of motorsport , including the Matra MS 670 , chassis 001, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1972 with the Henri Pescarolo / Graham Hill crew on board.

It is moreover the latter which was the star of the sale. It was in fact sold for € 6,907,200 including fees, thus becoming the most expensive Matra ever sold at auction.

The legends of Group B panicked the counters

Another old sports car particularly awaited during this sale, the legendary Group B rally cars also panicked the counters. The 1988 Audi Sport Quattro S1, for example, sold for € 2,016,600, more than twice its estimate and thus won the record for the most expensive rally car in history.

At the same time, the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Evolution 2 has found a new buyer for € 977,440. Here again, a record for a Peugeot 205. Same story for the 1985 Renault 5 Maxi Turbo which sold for € 667,520.

The 1986 Lancia Delta , a rare authentic factory Group B dressed in the legendary Martini livery, for its part greatly exceeded its estimate since it changed hands for € 810,560, while the other Lancia offered for sale , the 037 from 1985, was sold for € 548,320.

For its part, the Ford RS200 Factory from 1986 was sold for € 381,440.

A collection of Aston Martin

But this 2021 edition of La Parisienne also featured several English sports cars , mostly Aston Martins , including a rare 1959 DB4 GT which sold for € 1,358,000. At its side, the extremely rare Short Chassis Volante from 1965, presented in original left-hand drive and in its unique “Autumn gold” color was sold for € 1,158,600.

From the same collection, a DB5 Vantage was sold for € 810,560, while a Bristol 405 Drophead Coupé was sold for € 172,840.

In the end, the 2021 Parisian auction sold for a total of € 18,300,564.

Aston Martin: a 95% electric range in 2030?

Aston Martin a 95% electric range in 2030

Aston Martin plans to offer a 95% electric range in less than a decade.

Like Ferrari boss recently, Lawrence Stroll, the new chairman of Aston Martin , reportedly said his company would not become a 100% electric brand, at least not by 2030, during a convention according to Autocar . There would be “always enthusiasts” asking for cars with heat engines according to him.

“By 2030, 5% of our activities will still be (cars with) thermal engines. I do not see that going down one day to zero”, would have explained the leader. But reading between the lines, we therefore understand that the Aston Martin range could be 95% electric in less than ten years, a strategy close to that of Bentley which plans to be exclusively “zero emissions” in 2030 at the except for some special projects such as “continuation” models. The first production electric Aston Martin is expected to launch in 2025 or 2026.

Custom-made AMG engines

Stroll also reportedly announced that the recently deepened partnership between Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG would allow the former to obtain custom-made engines from the latter, like Pagani . Currently, the firm of Gaydon offers some of its models with the twin-turbo V8 4L from the German preparer as it already equips some cars of the brand with the star.

“Our current AMG engines are just that, AMG engines in an Aston. With this new agreement, we will have specific AMG engines for Aston with different horsepower, different torque characteristics etc. It will still be AMG components but custom-made in Germany, “he would have detailed. He would not have disclosed when these engines would begin to be used.

An Aston Martin DB6 ends up in a wall in Grigny

Aston Martin DB6

In Grigny (91), refusing to submit to a control, the driver of an Aston Martin DB6 fled … towards a wall.

It’s hard not to stand out behind the wheel of a collector’s sports car, all the more so in this period of confinement. Last Monday afternoon, in Essonne (91), the driver of an Aston Martin DB6 did not escape control by the police. According to the police , the man tried to escape but he visibly lost control of the vehicle since it ended up in a wall.

After passing through an embankment, the English coupé more precisely came to fit into the facade of the Sidney Bechet cultural center in Grigny, causing some damage but without causing any injuries. The driver was taken into custody according to the authorities.

A stolen DB6?

According to information from the Parisian , the driver was known to the police, did not hold a driving license, and was not the owner of the vehicle. So it could be a stolen car.

A DB6 in good condition is worth several hundred thousand dollars. This model was only produced between 1965 and 1969. It nevertheless knew several variants such as a sporty DB6 Vantage and a convertible DB6 Volante. If the car in the picture was indeed stolen, we imagine that despite the damage suffered its owner is relieved. His insurer, less!
