Volkswagen California Festival utility event (s)

Volkswagen is organizing for the first time a festival dedicated to van life and its legendary California!

Van life has a long history with Volkswagen . For the first time in its history, the brand’s Commercial Vehicle division is organizing a festival dedicated to these vehicles and to this philosophy.

Volkswagen and vans: a long history

It was in 1947 that the most emblematic van of the brand, and even in history, was born: the Volkswagen Combi . It was so successful at the time that the Combi also became the genesis of a new philosophy of life called “Van Life” .

At that time, the concept of life on board his van was quite new, and began to attract more and more people. Today, this art of living is experiencing a whole new boom, especially after such a special year linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It was in the 1980s with its 3rd generation that the Combi became the California. Today, with the Caddy California and the Grand California, it represents a real range in its own right at Volkswagen!

A festival to put the van in the spotlight

For the very first time, the German brand will organize a large gathering dedicated to Van Life. This event will be held from October 2 to 3, 2021 in Lacanau in Gironde. Called ” California Festival “, this gathering will be placed under the sign of escape, freedom, conviviality and celebration.

Participants will find themselves cut off from the world, in the heart of a Landes pine forest, in a place truly designed for escape ! On the program, fun workshops designed for both children and adults will be offered. Without counting on many nautical activities.

Obviously, the California is also in the spotlight. The election of the most beautiful vans will also be organized among festival participants. In total, nearly 300 vans are expected at this exclusive event!

So if you have a Volkswagen Combi or California vehicle, don’t wait any longer and go for the Van Life !
