Vietnamese manufacturer VinFast has announced the arrival in Europe of three new SUVs equipped with 100% electric engines, for spring 2022.
VinFast had caused much ink to flow by being present at the Paris Motor Show in 2018 , and today, the Vietnamese car manufacturer is setting out to conquer Europe with three new original models : SUVs equipped with engines 100% electric, and based on a new platform developed in Germany in the European R&D center of VinFast.
The first, VinFast VF31 , is a 4.30 meter-long C-segment compact SUV powered by an electric motor of 115 horsepower and 190 Nm of torque, combined with a 42 kWh battery providing a range of 300 km. Inside, there is a large central screen from 10 to 12.8 inches, an air conditioning system with activated carbon filter, a heated steering wheel, or even heated and ventilated seats.
The second model is the VinFast VF32 , a 4.75-meter-long D-segment mid-size SUV. Under the hood, two electric motors are available: a first version of 204 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, and a more powerful version of 408 horsepower and 640 Nm of torque, with a battery with a capacity of 90 kWh and 4-wheel drive permanent. A thermal version is also offered with a 2.0-liter petrol engine with 192 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. The interior is also technological with a 15.4-inch touchscreen, as well as customizable mood lighting.
State-of-the-art on-board equipment
The third model announced is the VinFast VF33 , a large E-segment SUV 5.12 meters long, powered by a 408 horsepower electric motor combined with a 106 kWh battery, offering 550 km of range. A thermal version will also be on the program, with a 2.0-liter petrol engine with 231 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.
In terms of on-board technologies, these future Vietnamese SUVs do not have to be ashamed, since they offer many level 3 autonomous driving features, operating thanks to LiDAR sensors, 14 cameras and 19 360-degree sensors, and certain level features. 4. Artificial intelligence is also present in a connected infotainment system, for which software updates will be provided remotely (OTA).
Orders for the three new VinFast models will be opened on the Old Continent in November 2021, with first deliveries expected in June 2022 .
