The Renault Mégane adopts a new 3-cylinder block for the entry level: a 1.0 TCe engine that develops 115 hp and available from € 24,700.
Changes in sight for the Renault Mégane : the entry level sees its finish change name and adopts a new small three-cylinder petrol unit.
The Zen finish is making a comeback, as an entry-level finish. Exit the Life version which is definitely removed from the Renault catalog. The entrance ticket also want to go from 29,000 € to 24,700 € , a really significant drop for the input Megane range!
A small 3 cylinder to complete the range
Before these changes, the choice was a TCe 140 hp engine, which was the entry offer for the Mégane. From now on, the small block of three cylinders 1.0 TCe , already seen in the Captur and the Clio finally arrives under the hood of the compact sedan, in a version with direct injection which allows it to develop 115 hp.
The engine is associated with a 6-speed manual transmission . With this 1.0 TCe unit, the maximum torque is only 200 Nm, available at only 2,900 rpm.
An engine reserved for the Zen finish
This small 3 cylinder is reserved for the basic Zen finish. Regarding the standard equipment on it, we find in particular: a rain and light sensor, cruise control, reversing radars, hands-free access kit, automatic air conditioning, four electric windows, a touch screen 7 inches with Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility, as well as electric and heated mirrors.
Finally, for the Mégane sedan, we find the “Limited” series , which adds front parking assistance, a lane departure warning, recognition of traffic signs, automatic high beams, an electric parking brake, navigation. as well as 16-inch rims. This version is marketed at € 25,550
With an entry ticket of € 24,700, this Mégane is rather well placed if we compare it for example to the current Peugeot 308 PureTech 110 Active Pack , which is displayed at € 25,050 today.
