Nissan Qashqai (2020)

Nissan unveils the interior of its future Qashqai. The third generation of the SUV, which will arrive in spring 2021, promises to be more refined, more comfortable, more spacious and more technological.

New Qashqai , ate II. Just a few days after unveiling the first information and photos concerning the third generation of the Qashqai, Nissan opens the doors of its future SUV to us to discover its interior.

Through a few pictures, the Japanese manufacturer announces a more refined, more comfortable, more spacious and more technological Qashqai than ever.

“New high-end materials, intelligent functions and a number of practical details further improve the performance on board,” promises the brand.

A revised dashboard, high quality screens

First notable change: the dashboard has been completely revised. Redesigned, it is more elegant than before. We also note that it now hosts at its top and no longer in its center a new screen, the size of which has been enlarged (9 inches) and the resolution improved.

At the same time, the center console has also been redesigned for better ergonomics. In the center of it, we discover in particular a new gearbox control, smaller, for the versions with automatic transmission.

The driving position benefits from a unique instrument cluster which is digital, configurable and measures 12.3 inches. A new 10.8-inch head-up display system is also making its appearance.

Improved comfort

On this new Qashqai, comfort has also been given special attention. The seats, for example, benefit from new materials and can be massaging in the front.

Nissan has also thought about improving driving comfort. In particular, the windshield is wider, the front pillars thinner and the exterior mirrors mounted on the doors rather than on the windshield pillars, which helps to improve peripheral vision.

At the rear, passengers will benefit from more space thanks to a longer wheelbase. Knee space has thus increased by 28 mm to 608 mm. The front and rear headroom has been improved by 15 mm thanks to the slight increase in exterior dimensions.

Always more practical the Qashqai

The practicality of the new Qashqai has not been overlooked either. The trunk volume, for example, gains 50 liters compared to the previous model, in part thanks to the lowering of the floor made possible by the new design of the rear suspension.

To facilitate loading in low-light conditions, the trunk now also benefits from dual lighting and a 12 V outlet to power devices such as electric coolers.

Another detail: the storage spaces have also been improved. The door bins in particular can now accommodate 1.5 liter bottles, compared to only 500 ml on the previous generation.

2.0 connectivity

Finally, the new Qashqai also promises high level connectivity thanks to an advanced infotainment system. Compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, it offers an extended range of connected services, an on-board Wi-Fi connection for seven devices and a dedicated application that allows remote control and monitoring of the vehicle (NissanConnect Services).

Launch planned for spring 2021

Based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-C platform, the new Qashqai, which will benefit from electrified engines (12V light hybridization on the 1.3L petrol engine and e-Power hybridization ), will be launched in spring 2021.
